Blue Star Freight used to be known as Strintzis Lines. The name Blue Star Freight was chosen in reference to the colour of the sea and of the Greek flag. Blue Star Ferries owns a fleet of 10 ferries. Blue Star Ferries runs regular freight services with two ferries in the Adriatic Sea between the Greek ports of Patras and Igoumenitsa and the Italian port of Bari and several Greek cargo routes. Blue Star Ferries operates six vessels between mainland Greece and the Greek islands, serving all main destinations such as Mykonos, Paros, Santorini, Kos and Rhodes.
Superfast Ferries, the sister company of Blue Star Ferries, operates a North Sea freight service from Rosyth to Zeebrugge. In addition to this service, Superfast Ferries operates daily freight services in the Adriatic Sea between the Greek ports of Patras and Igoumenitsa and the Italian port of Ancona with four Superfast ferries.
