Scandlines Freight is the largest freight ferry company in the southern part of the Baltic, established as a limited company in 1998 by joining together two of the largest national ferry companies in Denmark and Germany. Scandlines Freight operates 16 passenger and freight ferry lines between Denmark and Germany, Denmark and Sweden, Sweden and Germany, to the Baltic Countries and inside Denmark.

Scandlines Freight offers a wide range of restaurants, caterings, tax-free services plus the longed-for cabin on direct routes to Sweden and the Baltic States, which ensures the freight driver the right and proper service on all routes. Scandlines Ferries has just (October 2007) implemented a new RoRo service from Rostock to Hanko that will sail twice a week until December with the ship 'Merchant Brilliant'. To meet market requirements, the service will then be increased to four departures per week from January 2008. This has a cargo capacity of 2,170 lane metres as well as cabin places for up to 12 drivers.
