With eight routes, Scandlines offers an extensive service within the southern Baltic Sea. The primary route is between Rostock and Trelleborg with three daily departures in each direction and a daytime crossing time of 6 hours or 7½ hours overnight. The service is usually operated by M/V Skåne and M/V Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
Over 50 services are operated every day on the 45 minute link between Puttgarden & Rodby and there are more than 150 sailings every day on the 20 minute hop between Helsingor & Helsingborg. Landbridge rates covering both routes are available - please call aferryfreight on +44 (0)844 576 0060 for information.
The 1 hour connection between Rostock & Gedser is maintained by up to ten sailings every day and, once again, landbridge rates are available covering both ferry crossings on the Rostock - Helsingborg route. Please call +44 (0)844 576 0060.
The shortest sea link between Germany & Sweden is the `Konigslinie' (the Royal Line) and operates between Sassnitz & Trelleborg. The 3½ hour crossing is operated by M/F Sassnitz and M/F Trelleborg with up to five departures daily. Longer sea crossings connect Rostock with Hanko (for Helsinki) with up to four departures per week in each direction. The journey takes 35 hours and M/F Merchant and M/F Aurora usually operate this route.
Similarly, there are two weekly rotations on the links between Travemünde and the Latvian ports of Liepaja and Ventspils. The crossing takes 27½ hours with M/V Urd and the 2008-built M/V Watling Street respectively.
Nynäshamm (for Stockholm) & Ventspils are connected with five weekly rotations, the journey aboard M/V Scottish Viking taking approximately 11 hours.
A sailing with Scandlines gives freight drivers the opportunity for rest and recreation. Even on the short crossings freight drivers have the opportunity to take a refreshing shower. On the longer crossings drivers can enjoy delicious and varied food in a modern, comfortable atmosphere and a berth in a cabin for that well earned rest.
There are video and TV lounges and cinemas and, on some vessels, there's even the chance to enjoy a sauna.
