About Estonia
Independent since 1991, Estonia is the northernmost of the three former Baltic States. She shares a land border with Latvia to the south and with Russia to the east. The population of Estonia is estimated to be 1.34 million, almost one-third of which lives in the capital city of Tallinn, located on the coast of the Gulf of Finland.
Tallinn is connected to the Finnish capital city of Helsinki, to Mariehamm (on the Åland Islands) and to Stockholm. These ferries carry a combination of both tourist and freight traffic.
