BornholmerFærgen is the new name of the Danish ferry company formerly known as Bornholmstrafikken.
BornholmerFærgen, founded in 1866, was originally named 'Dampskibsselskabet paa Bornholm af 1866 A/S'. It was commonly referred to as the '66' company.
Until 1973 BornholmerFærgen was a privately run company but is now owned by the Danish state and provides essential transport between the island of Bornholm, Denmark, Germany and Sweden.
The BornholmerFærgen freight ferry service is continually being updated and developed and two new ships have been introduced recently to strengthen the service for passengers, mail and freight to and from the island of Bornholm.
Freight drivers can be assured of a warm welcome aboard the BornholmerFærgen fleet of three vessels.
Services include shops, lounges and a bistro where breakfasts and a selection of cold dishes are offered. A berth in a cabin is also provided for freight drivers.
